With Tapiocan you can import a csv file to the loading or updating of the catalogue products of your own e-commerce. To start, we recommend that you download the test file in this guide for filling in all the required details of your products.
To start the compilation of the file, you'll need to enter the Model (product or variant), product code, name, and other data as the header of the columns in the file .csv.
You can enter a description on each product (avoiding punctuation such as a semicolon (;) or comma if you use this separator).
In case you have the need to insert punctuation such as comma or semicolon, you must enclose all of the text between quotation marks.
The Type indicates the type of product. The values to enter are:
1 = product, without variants
2 = product with variants
3 = digital product
N. b: in the case of variants, the Type must not be indicated.
To correctly indicate a variation is necessary to indicate in the column REF, the ID of the product to which it refers.
Remember that you have to insert the quantity of the product and choose whether the product is available for purchase, or make it not available.
To do this, you will have to specify the values for numbers between 1 and 3, which correspond to:
1 = available
2 = not available
3 = ask for availability
Finally you will have to enter the price (only the digit, without currency), any categories (we recommend to create them in advance about the Management of E-commerce), tags (or key words, separated by the character pipe \ ) and url of the images you can not even compile at the moment: in this case, you can upload the images directly to the internal Management And e-commerce.
We inform you that all the fields are mandatory, and only some of them accept empty values, i.e.:
- The code;
- Reference, unless you are pointing to a variant;
- Options, unless you are pointing to a variant;
After you have compiled the file, you can upload it in the section Import/Export of Products.
Then select the semicolon (;) as a separator and make sure that on the "column
If you already have a file with the list of all your products (for example provided by a supplier or by a service dropshipping), remember to convert it to the format .csv. Often, in fact, you may have a working file format .xls. To change the format, click on the File in your work schedule, Save and then change the format.
After you have imported the list of products, you'll need to associate the column headers of your file with all the categories present on Tapiocan.
